For the first production of our 3rd Mainstage Professional Theater Season, Black Box Studios presents a new production of the the play by Dale Wasserman, from the novel by Ken Kesey.
ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST is presented in special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., NY.
Allison Falkenstern Allison Falkenstern (Assistant Director/Sandra/Nurse) is a member of the Black Box Rep Company and serves as the Co-Administrative and Education Director. Most recently she directed Macbeth for Shakespeare in the Park. Past directing credits include: Junie B Jones,The Musical (BBPAC), Griller (AD at BBPAC), A Funny Thing...Forum (AD at Fairleigh Dickinson University), A Midsummer Night's Dream (AD at Fairleigh Dickinson University). Past acting credits include: Dog Sees God (CB's Sister), Peer Gynt (Kari/Begriffenfeldt), Talk Radio (Callers).
Julian Faust Julian Faust (Aide Williams) aka "Goldie St. Julian" is an apprentice actor and screenwriter-in-training. He is beyond excited to be able to be a part of his first Professional theatre production, especially with a crew as awesome as this one. He has acted in the three Young Playwright's Festivals (Bergen County) and was excited to see a one-act play he wrote (Cabernet and a Black Dress) be produced at the 2017 Young Playwrights Festival. As he continues to learn the craft, he hopes to be a part of many awesome projects in the future. He would like to extend his highest thanks to Lord Yeshua, followed by the TBG and TCY Families, his parents, Matt Okin to whom he is deeply grateful for this opportunity, and to the everlasting encouragement of Baby Redd whom he loves dearly.
Jason Felix Jason Felix (Chief Bromden) is an actor in both realms: theatre & film. Raised in a Colombian/ Dominican household and a member of The Black Box Rep Company, Jason's BBPAC recent credits include Antonio in Shakespeare in the Park's Twelfth Night, Kent in Eric Bogosian's Talk Radio and Terrence in Griller, Van in Dog Sees God, Bradley in Buried Child, the titular role of Skip Gold in Skip & Rivka's Not-So-Kosher Interactive Wedding Experience, Jake in Evil Dead: The Musical. He was also Assistant Director/Production Designer for Hand To God, Production Designer for Disgraced and Production Stage Manager/Lighting Design/Op for HAIR: The American Tribal Love Rock Musical. He has been in the Netflix series "Friends From College" and Jason Swagger in the feature film "Crossing The Line" directed by Andre Degas. Jason is beyond ecstatic to be a part of this wonderful production and being involved in such an awesome ensemble of actors whose inspiring nature never cease!
Michael Gardiner Michael Gardiner (R.P. Murphy) is a member of the Black Box Rep Company, serving as Co-Managing Director. He also works as a teaching artist. Company credits: Macbeth (Macbeth) Hand to God (Jason/Tyrone), Peer Gynt (Peer Gynt/Ensemble), Buried Child (Dodge), Talk Radio and Griller in Rep (The Callers/Gussie), Dog Sees God (Matt), Cloud Nine (Betty/Gerry), Bad Jews (Jonah). Other credits: The Taming of the Shrew (Petruchio), The Crucible (John Proctor), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Oberon/Theseus). Directorial Credits: Twelfth Night. Michael graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.A. in Theatre Arts and Communication. Michael wishes to thank his family, mentors, Matt Okin, and Larissa for their unending support.
Jake Geary Jake Geary (Scanlon) is excited to be a part of Black Box's production of One Flew... A BA graduate in Theater Arts with a British Studies Minor from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Madison, NJ) this is Jake's second production with the center. His first was in Peer Gynt (Aase/Lean One/Ensemble). He's acted in other shows such as American Theatre of Actors' Julius Caesar (Casca/Flavius/ Ensemble), Villagers Theatre's Equus (Alan Strang), Staten Island Shakespearean Co.'s King Lear (Edgar). His eternal gratitude belongs to Director Matt Okin and the production team for seeing the potential in this cast as well as to his fervent supporters: his family. Break a leg to the cast and crew, and may you all enjoy this ambiguous reflection of the American condition!
Sara Giacomini
Sara Giacomini (Production Assistant), a proud member of the Black Box Repertory Company, where she serves as Education Director and Administrative Director. Most recently, Sara was seen as Viola in Twelfth Night in the inaugural summer of Shakespeare in the Park presented by Black Box Studios and before that she toured the country as Sally in The Cat in the Hat with Two Beans Productions/Theatreworks USA. Sara also serves as a teaching artist here at Black Box Studios, at George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, NJ, and at the Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts. "Never apologize for your art."
Samuel Hapner-Goldman
Samuel Hapner-Goldman (Cheswick/TD) is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University from which he holds a B.A. in Theater. Previous roles include Sebastian in Twelfth Night, Angus in Macbeth, Woof in HAIR, Jeremy in Griller, and Stu in Talk Radio. He would like to thank his mother, father, and sister for their unending support of his artistic endeavors.
Nimon Ibrahimaj (Production Manager/Technical Director) is a graduate of the University at Buffalo from which he holds a BA in Technical Theater. Nimon has worked as a Lighting and Sound Designer, as well as a Master Carpenter during his time as the Technical Director of Black Box PAC.
Matt Kiesling
Matt Kiesling (Ruckley/Dr. Spivey) Matt is proud to be making his NJ debut! He was last seen as the title role in Macbeth (the Brick), and John Adams in 1776 (NSB). He is a graduate of NYU Tisch New Studio on Broadway, studies at UCB, and co-hosts the improv comedy podcast "Matt and Tariq's Terrible Book Club." Thank you to my family, relatives and friends, for the all hugs and floor space during my journey. And my therapist Dr. Levy.
Sebastian LaPointe
Sebastian LaPointe (Billy Bibbitt) just graduated from Middlebury College as a theatre major in June! He now lives in New York City, but hails from the Florida Keys. Off-Broadway credits: Brecht on Brecht, Arcadia. Other credits: Enron, Glengarry Glen Ross, An Enemy of the People, A Midsummer Night's Dream, City of Angels, Flare Path, and Spring Awakening. Sebastian wants to thank his muh-mama for all her love and support.

Danielle MacMath (Production Assistant) is a proud member of the Black Box Repertory Company. Recently she was Feste in Twelfth Night and a Witch in Macbeth in the inaugural summer of Shakespeare in the Park presented by Black Box Studios, in addition to serving as Stage Manager for the productions. Stephan Marcellus
Stephan Marcellus (Aide Warren) Englewood native and Guyanese American Stephan Marcellus is an accomplished singer-songwriter, humanitarian, and actor. A breakout star on Season 13 of NBC's "The Voice", Marcellus's ever evolving musical career includes performances at iconic venues such as The Apollo, Carnegie Hall, and The Highline Ballroom. In the summer of 2018, Marcellus release his debut EP "Redemption" an ode to freedom, authenticity, rock, and soul and made his acting debut as "Ronny" in Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical- delivering a stellar rendition of the iconic song "Age of Aquarius." Marcellus joins Black Box as the Director of Special Programs and continues to explore the world of theatre, appearing in SPROUTED as "The Giant" and in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
Samantha Quiles Samantha Quiles (Candy Starr/Nurse/ASM) is a recent graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts. University Credits include: Summer and Smoke (Alma), Run-On Sentence (Mel u/s). Off-Broadway: The Nuclear Plays (The Clementè). Samantha has previously been involved with Black Box's, Shakespeare in the Park (Lady Macduff/Valentine). She looks forward to her next opportunity to collaborate with creative and inspiring artists. Samantha would like to thank her family for their constant love and support.
Oscar Selby Oscar Selby (Martini) is an actor, singer, writer and full time uncle. A stella adler alumni who did intensives like the musical conservatory (with Peter Flynn and Andrèa Burns) and self-generated theater conservatory (with John Gould-Rubin and Stacey Robinson). His voice teacher is Steven Stein-Grainger. Previous work include the title role in Alexander and The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day The Musical and Marty in Madagascar! A Musical Adventure. He would like to thank Black Box for this opportunity, his support systems (They know who they are) and most of all his mother Dr. Karen Selby.
Sarah Spring Sarah Spring (Nurse Ratched) is a New York-based actor, writer, and director. Past acting credits include Macbeth (Lady Macbeth) and Twelfth Night (Curio) at BBPAC; The Will-a-thon (Rosalind/Isabella) at The Workshop Theater Company; The Winter's Tale (Hermione), Pericles (Dionyza/Thaisa), and Cymbeline (The Queen) at The Cradle Theatre Company; Measure for Measure (Isabella), Twelfth Night (Viola), The Language Archive (Alta), and The Dybbuk (Leah) at Fordham University at Lincoln Center. Training: Fordham University, Interlochen Arts Academy, and HB Studio. Love to Matt and all the cuckoos in the nest!
STATiC STATiC (Sound Design/FX) is most widely known as a guitarist and a long-time member of internationally acclaimed band Ours, lead by Jimmy Gnecco. In his almost 20 year music career, he has toured the US, Canada, Europe and the U.K. for premier headlining acts for A-Ha, Peter Murphy, Marilyn Manson, Filter, Blue October, CircaSurvive, Dredg, Never Ending White Lights, Lucas Rossi, AFI, Bush, and Live. He has also shared the stage and bill with all star line-ups such as Iggy Pop, Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, Leslie West, Wayne Kramer, Perry Farrell, Jerry Cantrell, Tom Morello, Alain Johannes, Constantine Maroulis, Gilbey Clark, Joe Lynn Turner, and Muz Skillings. He's collaborated with Free Dominguez, lead singer of Kidneythieves, on their album Volcano and the Sea working as Music Director, guitarist and co-writer. He also produced and performed with Jim DeSalvo and Daryl DMC McDaniels of Run DMC fame. Along with performing, he also works as a DJ, soundscape artist, beat-maker, and live remixer. He most recently served as Bassist, Music Director and Sound Designer of BBPAC's Hair, and will serve at Guitarist, Music Director and Sound Designer for Black Box's upcoming production of Spring Awakening.
Larissa Terese Larissa Terese (Nurse Flynn/PSM) is a proud member of the Black Box Repertory Company serving as both actor and Literary & Special Events Coordinator. BBPAC credits include: Macbeth (First Witch), Twelfth Night (Maria), and Dog Sees God (Van's Sister). She is from Buffalo, NY and received her BA in Theatre Arts from Fairleigh Dickinson University. University credits include: Spring Awakening (Thea), Urinetown (Little Becky Two-Shoes), Merrily We Roll Along (Meg/Featured Ensemble), Lysistrata (Myrhinne) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (First Fairy). Larissa dedicates this and every performance to her late mom and brother.
Laurence Wallace Laurence Wallace (Dale Harding) wants to thank Matt Okin, the director, and all the cast and crew of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for this amazing experience! He has performed in previous productions here at BBPAC including Talk Radio, Griller, Peer Gynt, Buried Child, Hand to God, Disgraced, Cloud 9 and The Goat Or Who is Sylvia? Some of his other theatre credits include Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Philipstown Depot Theatre in Garrison, NY, True West, 'ART', A Soldier's Story and Red. Laurence is incredibly thankful to his AMAZING partner Stan, whose beauty inside and out are truly a source of inspiration and strength. He also wants to thank his wonderful parents for their enduring love, support and generosity. Matt Okin from Black Box Studios Matt Okin (Director/BBPAC Artistic Director) founded Black Box Studios in 2007 and opened Black Box Performing Arts Center in November 2015. Recent directing credits include: Hair, Griller, Talk Radio, Dog Sees God, Peer Gynt, Buried Child, Hand To God, Heathers The Musical: High School Edition (teens), Disgraced, Cloud 9, Skip & Rivkah's Not-So- Kosher Interactive Wedding Experience, The Goat Or, Who Is Sylvia?, Blood Brothers A Musical, Evil Dead The Musical, Bad Jews, RMTI's new production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (teens), True Groove Productions’ Diana & Navy & The Golden Tooth, The Pillowman, and Passing Strange (all at BBPAC); the Off-Broadway premiere of Huey Esquire's This Time, A New Musical Romance (at Theater For The New City, as well as BBPAC); and the BBS Ensemble's productions of Falsettos "In Concert", House Of Blue Leaves, and Next To Normal (all at bergenPAC), among many others. As a playwright, director, and composer, Matt's original plays and musicals include: Beltsville/Rockville, Part One: Rise Of The Goatman (NJ workhops), Out Of Whack: The All-Kids Rock Musical (devised, at Theater For The New City), Soul Searching (45th Street Theater, DR2 Theater, D-Lounge, and the NYMF), Generations (various NYC venues and NYMF), and A Match Made In Manhattan: The Interactive Jewish Wedding Experience (NYC and national tours). Other original plays, produced both in New York and on national tours include: Second Chances, Twist Of Faith, Walter Liked To Sit In His Big Backyard, Cherry Hill, The Ugly Wife, and Pigs. Matt received a BFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University's Tisch School Of The Arts. He has two grad school-aged daughters, Rachel and Arielle.
